EXPANDING EARLY CARE AND LEARNING NON-PROFIT IN CLEAR CREEK COUNTY AWARDED $50,000 GRANT BY BUELL FOUNDATION AND ACCEPTED TO PRESENT AT THE 2025 GLOBALMIND ED CONFERENCE IN DENVER

January 16, 2025.  Expanding Early Care and Learning (EECL) in Clear Creek County, a non-profit located in Idaho Springs,  announced today the award of a $50,000.00 grant from the Buell Foundation, “a professional philanthropic organization supporting the positive development of children through grants and partnerships” with a general focus on the State of Colorado. Jessica Tribbett, EECL Secretary stated, “the Buell’s support allows us to create a county-wide action plan, helping us reach our goal of expanding accessible and affordable early childhood education in Clear Creek County.”

Additionally, the organization’s presentation “How to swim in a childcare desert?” has been accepted at the GlobalMindED 2025 conference in Denver. EECL board members will present the AQUA model highlighting four areas:  Affordable, Quality, Useful, & Accessible childcare as a method of addressing early childhood education crises, both locally and regionally, as well as strategies for obtaining funding.  This national conference draws over 1,000 leaders from a wide variety of disciplines such as education, business, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations.

EECL is a non-profit organization founded in 2021. The volunteer board members have expertise in early childhood education and mental health, community engagement, strategic thinking, and research and data compilation. EECL is designated as a 501(c)(3) by the IRS and is a member in good standing of the Colorado Nonprofit Association.  The EECL mission is to increase quality, affordable, safe and supportive environments in all early childcare and learning settings to promote development and create nurturing relationships for young children (infants to kindergarten) thus contributing to a thriving community.  Additional board members include Pamela Marsh (President), Carla Pokrywka Cole (Vice President) and Caitlin Morris.  EECL is actively seeking board member applications.
